Mission Statement
We are dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich heritage of Oromo traditional foods. Our mission is to collect, organize, and document the names, ingredients, and cooking procedures of these cherished recipes to ensure they remain accessible for future generations. Through standardized recipes, we aim to celebrate our cultural identity while making these traditions available to the public.
As part of our commitment to culinary education, we also strive to introduce international culinary knowledge and skills to our community. Presented in Affan Oromo, our program includes:
1.Basic culinary skills.
2.Fundamental culinary terms.
3.Internationally recognized food items, ingredients, and spices
4.Tools and kitchen equipment.
5.Essentials of nutrition, sanitation, and hygiene.
6.Training programs introducing culinary science.
Our vision includes developing a comprehensive culinary curriculum in Affan Oromo that bridges cultural traditions with global culinary practices. We recognize that inadequate access to cultural foods can create cultural stress and impact identity and well-being. By fostering an appreciation for both traditional and international cuisines, we aim to empower our community with knowledge, skills, and pride in our shared culinary heritage.
